4.2.3

July 2nd, 2008

I’ve uploaded 4.2.3 to the website and to AMO. The version is a simple version bump so it works with Firefox 3. In other news, I also updated the website to the latest version of Wordpress.

Enjoy.

Version 4.2.2

January 3rd, 2008

I’ve updated PhishTank SiteChecker to support Firefox 3, so when it comes out, you will be able to update to a version that is compatible. Also in this version is a fix for the block page showing up on a page that’s not a phish (this happens if you were on a phishing page but then switched tabs or something like that). Some other bugs have been fixed as well.

You might notice that it’s almost the exact same size as 4.2.1 (which is 81.1KB). It’s funny because in this update I’ve changed a bunch of things so they would run better and fixed a bunch of bugs. And somehow, I managed to have the exact same size as what I started with.

You can download it on the download page.  On AMO, the current supported version is the latest beta due to AMO not allowing extensions that are ready for Firefox 3.

CHiP Article

December 29th, 2007

PhishTank SiteChecker was recently featured in an article in the CHiP magazine under a section about banking and what I assume to be practicing safe banking. With the recent magazine comes a CD/DVD of a bunch of software, SiteChecker is on it as well.

Woo Hoo!

The article is in German, so it’s hard to read if you don’t understand it.

Wow! Crazy download stats and other news

June 13th, 2007

Alright so here is some new news:

A) We reached 23489 downloads on this site for PhishTank SiteChecker and 25555 for all downloads since January 11th. On addons.mozilla.org we have 49747 installs. Awesome!

B) There are no more future versions predicted as this extension has finally it a Product Release (and so, it doesn’t need any new updates).

C) Back at GameSpotting! Networks, several new projects are under development for Thunderbird and for other companies.

And that’s about it, have a nice day!
